The Causes of Traction Alopecia
Traction Alopecia is the loss of ones own hair, not because of genetics, but because of action that you take. Anything that deliberately moves the hair follicles on a persons head can induce Traction Alopecia if it is done over time. the number of things that can weaken the hair follicles over time is quite numerous.
The first main cause of Traction Alopecia stems from a persons hands. An individual can pull or tug on their hair follicles too often over time and can weaken hair follicles to the point of hair loss. For many people, this can stem from stress and can be handled with therapy or personal meditation.
The second main cause of Traction Alopecia comes from different hair styles. Some hair styles call for a tightening of hair strands to the point that it causes undue stress on the hair follicles themselves. Over time, the usage of these hair styles weakens the hair follicles and again, leads to hair loss and Premature Baldness. The best way to avoid this in the future is to allow for more hair styles that do less long-term damage to the hair.
The third main cause of Traction Alopecia is in the usage of head gear such as hats and helmets. Certain types of head gear are expected to fit rather tightly to ones scalp and prevent them from falling off easily. Unfortunately, the tightness of helmets and certain hats can also pull on hair follicles and weaken them over time. In this case, it's best to just be careful how often you wear certain helmets and hats that can bring unneeded pressure to ones scalp.
The main causes of Traction Alopecia all stem from one source: large pressure on hair follicles over an extended period of time. It can be avoided rather easily by just being careful about what might pull or tug on your hair over time. A little awareness can go a long way.
